When students submit PART I (also called the Personal Data Form) of the application is when they get assigned an interview. And they can do that as early as September!! Students who read the current phrasing might wait to send both parts on the deadline (Jan 10) and the admissions office would much rather spread out the interview assignments through the fall and winter.
